Specialization

The MBA program offers functional specialization in Marketing, Finance and Human Resource Management. The elective courses are offered as per the requirements of the students within the framework of Gujarat Technological University guidelines.

The Curriculum - MBA Program

The course curriculum and syllabus for MBA program of Gujarat Technological University is devised considering the norms of AICTE / UGC. While preparing the syllabus, the syllabi of different national level universities / institutions have been taken into consideration.

The MBA program of Gujarat Technological University is spread over four semesters and two academic years. In the first year all the courses are compulsory. In the second year, there are three types of courses - compulsory, specialization and elective. Once a student opts for a particular specialization in semester III, he / she will continue the same in semester IV.

Industry Exposure & Projects

The purpose of the full time MBA program is to equip the students with required skills and knowledge to work as a team towards common goals. As a management student, it is essential to gain industrial exposure for practical learning. Towards achievement of this objective, the following types of project works included in the syllabus.

1. Summer Internship Project: Students will have to undergo Summer Training for six to eight weeks after the completion of the second semester and submit a 'Summer Project Report'. The report will be evaluated by a panel consisting of one internal supervisor and one external referee appointed by GTU.

2. Multidisciplinary Action Project (MAP): Students are required to work with an organization for hands on experiential learning during the entire Semester III. The students will have to undergo MAP during the semester and submit a “MAP Report” by end of the semester. MAP involves students solving multidisciplinary business problems or opportunities by applying problem solving techniques. Students work on actionable projects identified by their sponsoring companies / organizations / NGOs / rural bodies. Application of solutions from multiple disciplines to industry problems is required. Students are expected to actually solve real life business challenges and problems.

3. Students work on Comprehensive Project in the 4th semester of their study in the MBA program. The students are mentored by their faculty guide on a continuous basis during the research. Our MBA program receives incessant support from the corporate sector for these project opportunities to students.
