RAGGING is strictly prohibited

  • D. L. Patel institution is a ragging free campus.
  • Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and students are advised not to indulge in any form of ragging. Severe actions will be taken against those who indulge in such activities as per the Government and University rules.
  • Ragging entails heavy fines and/or suspension/expulsion from the institute.
  • Any students with the intention of causing ragging or with the knowledge that he/she is likely by such act to cause ragging commits or abets ragging. And thereby teases or embarrasses or humiliates or assaults or uses criminal force or criminally intimidates or wrongfully restraints or wrongfully confines or causes grievous hurt or kidnaps or abducts or commit unnatural offence or causes death or abets suicide shall be punished as per the prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997.
  • If the individuals committing or abetting ragging are not identified, collective punishment could be resorted to Act as a deterrent punishment and to ensure collective pressure on the potential raggers.
  • The students can report any incident of ragging to the members of the Anti-ragging Cell or Director / HOD (BCA & PGDCA program) and help the authorities to take strict action against the culprit. The name of the informer will be kept confidential.

Institute Rules & Regulation for the Students

  • The attendance for the academic term is 75% as per the rules of HNGU.
  • The students at the institute required attention and diligence. They are required to maintain dignity and decorum in the campus. Each student shall conduct himself / herself, within and outside the campus in a manner befitting a student of prestigious institute. A student shall show due respect and courtesy to the teacher, staff, and visitors, residents of the institute and to the fellow students.
  • Students are required to be dresses neatly.
  • Please check the college notice board regularly for any updates and announcements.
  • Students must wear / keep their identity cards and shall show the same on demand by any faculty / official of the institute.
  • Adoption of unfair practices in tests, quizzes, assignments or the examinations; noisy and unruly behavior shall constitute violation of the code of conduct.
  • It is compulsory for the students to attend functions, activities, seminars and workshops organized by the institute.
  • Students are required to pay their semester fees within 15 days of the beginning of the semester.
  • Use of the cell phone in the class room is strictly restricted.
  • The Director reserves the right to modify any of the institute rules as and when required. The decision of the Director shall be final in all matters.

Library Rules & Regulations

  • The library is for the students of the institute, faculty and staff of D. L. Patel BCA and PGDCA College. Outsiders may be allowed only with written permission of the Director for a limited period.
  • The library timings are from 9.00 am to 2:45 pm.
  • Students are required to maintain discipline and peace in the library. Every one shall ensure that no reader should feel disturb by his / her act. In case of violation, a student will be punished as per the rules of the institute.
  • Book lost or damaged will be replaced or paid for, to the satisfaction of the librarian. Readers and borrowers will not write anything upon a book, periodical or material belonging to the library.
  • Eatables are not allowed inside the library. Readers and visitors are requested not to bring their belongings in the library.
  • No library material shall be taken outside the library without librarian's permission. Books marked 'not for issue’ are intended to be used in the library premises. These may include several reference books, textbooks, current and bound periodicals, etc.

Computer Lab Usage Rules

  • Users need to have a valid user account in order to use lab computers. Please refer to your respective faculty for details.
  • Users must not misrepresent their identity or attempt to use another person's identity when using lab computing resources.
  • Any stealing of the lab equipments is punishable and penalty shall be imposed for theft.
  • Users shall not temper with standard licensed software packages installed on the hard disks. Users are not permitted to install software on lab computers. Suggestions for new software may be made to relevant academic supervisor or faculty members.
  • Users shall not use institute's equipments for non-institute related business. Users must not use the lab facilities for malicious or illegal acts, e.g. spreading viruses, sending and forwarding chain mails, hacking, etc.
  • Viewing of pornography or other sexually explicit materials and any other offensive media in the lab is strict prohibited, Recreational use of computers is not permitted e.g. recreational web surfing, recreational e-mail, chatting, games, etc.
  • Always carry college id with you while using the lab. You may be asked to present it at any time. And if you don’t have the I-card, you may be asked to leave the lab.
  • Maintain silence and be courteous towards other students and staff and avoid excessive 'hogging’ while using the facility.
  • Put your bags, shoe, and eatables outside the lab.
  • Switch off your mobile.
